Is Bali safe for solo female travellers?

Short answerYes - Bali is one of the more comfortable places in Asia for a solo woman to travel, with violent crime rates lower than many Western cities and a large, visible community of other solo female travellers, especially in Ubud and Canggu. The genuine risks are the same ones everyone faces here: scooter accidents, opportunistic bag and phone theft, and unlit lanes late at night - not stranger violence. Normal travel sense covers most of it.

What the risk picture actually is

The main hazards are petty theft and scooter accidents, not assault. Avoid poorly lit beaches and isolated alleys late (Kuta after midnight gets named most often), and take a GPS-tracked Grab or Gojek car home rather than walking dark roads (Bali Holiday Secrets, Cafe del Mar, Localhi). Where solo women feel most at ease

Ubud is the frequent gold standard - walkable, wellness-focused, and full of other solo travellers, which makes it easy to meet people and easy to feel unbothered. Honest caveats

Catcalling and persistent "transport?" or vendor attention happen but are rarely threatening - a firm, friendly no works.
