Seminyak or Canggu: which should I stay in?

Short answerPick Seminyak if you want a polished, walkable holiday - proper resorts, upscale dining, beach clubs and a short airport transfer. Pick Canggu if you want surf, cafes, coworking, better-value private villas and a younger, more laid-back crowd. They sit only 20-30 minutes apart, so whichever you base in, the other is an easy evening out. Neither is "better" - they are two different moods.

What Seminyak wins

Comfort and convenience. Five-star beachfront resorts, the island's densest walkable strip of restaurants and shops, established beach clubs, and the shortest transfer from the airport. It suits couples, honeymooners, shorter trips and anyone who wants things easy and hotel-serviced (Bali Holiday Secrets, Breathing Travel). The trade-off: it is pricier for resorts and dinners, and feels less local.

What Canggu wins

Value and lifestyle.
