Frequently asked

How much does paddle surf cost in Barcelona?

On the schools' own sites, SUP board rental runs from 12 EUR an hour at Eswell and 12.50 EUR at Ungravity to 15 EUR at Sea You. Group lessons cost 20 EUR an hour at DGP, from 20 EUR at Ungravity and 30 EUR for 90 minutes at Eswell.

Can you actually surf in Barcelona?

Sometimes. Sea You runs two-hour surf classes for 40 EUR, but its own page says surf depends on the sea state and wave forecast and conditions are checked before each class. DGP and Ungravity also teach surf. Paddle surf works on calm days too, which is why most schools here focus on it.

Is paddle surf in Barcelona good for beginners?

Yes. Eswell, DGP and Ungravity all sell beginner group classes, and Eswell keeps groups to six people. A reviewer of DGP mentions calm water, which suits a first session.

Where are the surf and SUP schools in Barcelona?

Four of the five are in Barceloneta, close to the city beaches, and Freaky Surf Movement is on Moll de la Marina by the Olympic Port. All are reachable on foot or by metro from the old town.

Is this list sponsored?

No. The ranking is editorial and unpaid: schools are ordered by Google rating weighted by review count, and none paid to be listed.
