The Best of Barcelona: Spas, Saunas, Yoga, Coworking and More (2026)

Barcelona has twelve lists: spas, massage, yoga, gyms, pilates, coworking, surf, diving, healthy cafes, cooking classes, padel, and recovery (saunas, ice baths and hammams). The recovery list has four places, because only four met our rule of a Google rating of 4.4 or higher with at least 40 reviews; beach clubs did not reach four, so we left them out. Most places sit in a few walkable neighbourhoods: Eixample for massage, pilates and vegan cafes, Gracia for coworking and a hammam, Sarria for a hotel spa, the Gothic Quarter and El Raval for cooking classes, and Barceloneta for paddle surf and beach yoga, while several padel clubs are on the city edge. Every list is ranked by Google rating weighted by review count, with prices from each place's own website or marked n/a; we have not visited these places.

Frequently asked

Which Barcelona neighbourhood is best for wellness and remote work?

Eixample has the most places across these lists, from massage and pilates to saunas, hammams and vegan cafes. Gracia suits remote workers, with day passes at Singular Cowork and Betahaus, and Barceloneta is the base for paddle surf and beach yoga.

Can you surf in Barcelona?

Sometimes, but most beach schools here focus on paddle surf. SEA YOU Paddle Surf School, one of the schools in our list, says on its own site that surf lessons depend on the sea state and wave forecast.

How do I get between neighbourhoods in Barcelona?

Most places in these lists are in Eixample, Gracia, the old town and Barceloneta, which are linked by metro and are walkable from one another. Workshop Fitness Club in Poblenou and the padel clubs in Cornella and L'Hospitalet are the furthest out.

Are these lists sponsored?

No. Rankings are editorial and unpaid: places are ordered by Google rating weighted by review count, prices come from the places' own sites or are marked n/a, and no place paid to appear.
