Bali Q&A

How much is a yoga class in Canggu?

Short answerA drop-in yoga class in Canggu costs 150,000-165,000 IDR at the main studios: The Practice 150,000, Samadi 155,000, Adda 160,000, The Path 165,000, Udara in Seseh 170,000. The cheap end is Pranava Yoga at Matra in Tibubeneng, 110,000 for a visitor and 88,000 for Indonesian citizens. Classes run 60-90 minutes, most of them 75. Six-class packs bring the price to 110,000-130,000 a class, an unlimited week is 900,000 at Adda, and a KITAS card cuts a drop-in to 100,000-135,000 almost everywhere that publishes a rate. Those are the studios' own published prices, re-read on 17 October 2026.

The drop-in table from our Canggu ranking

Every studio here is on our ranking of the best yoga studios in Canggu, plus Udara, which sits just north in Seseh and is on the island-wide list. "n/a" means the studio does not publish a price and we did not guess one. Prices are the studio's own, read on its site or its booking engine on 17 October 2026; where the only published figure is from our 16 October sweep we say so.

Six studios publish a single-class price: 110,000, 150,000, 155,000, 160,000, 165,000 and 170,000 IDR. Median about 157,000. Four of the ten Canggu studios publish no price at all, which is the honest shape of this market: the small shalas run on Instagram and a WhatsApp number.

Source: our own rankings on this site (data/venues.csv, 303 venues), prices as published by each studio on its own site or booking engine (addayogabali.com, thepathyogacenter.com, matrabali.com, udara-bali.com, thepracticebali.com schedule) and re-read on 17 October 2026; The Practice and Samadi drop-ins from our 16 October 2026 sweep.

Why the number is 150,000-165,000 almost everywhere

Canggu's studios have settled on a price band so narrow it looks agreed. The Practice, Samadi, Adda and The Path sit within 15,000 IDR of each other for a drop-in, and Udara, twenty minutes north, lands only 5,000 above them. The reason is the product: a 75-minute class in an open bamboo shala with a teacher who is usually a visiting professional on a short contract, in a room that holds 20-30 mats. At 160,000 a mat, a full class grosses around 3-4 million rupiah, which is what it costs to run a shala, pay the teacher and keep the garden swept in a village where a cafe lunch is 90,000. Ubud confirms the band from the other side of the island: The Yoga Barn and Radiantly Alive both publish 165,000.

The two outliers tell you what moves the price. Pranava at Matra is 110,000 because it is a gym's yoga room in Tibubeneng, not a destination shala, and because it prices in three tiers (visitor, KITAS, Indonesian) that bring the local rate down to 88,000. The Practice's 150,000 is the oldest price on the list and the one most likely to move; its schedule already prices specials above it, 200,000 for a two-hour yin and 150,000 for the sound-frequency meditations.

Packs, weeks and months: where the break-even sits

  • Six-class packs are the sweet spot for a two-week visitor. Adda's 660,000 is 110,000 a class against 160,000 single; Samadi's 775,000 is about 129,000 a class against 155,000. Both are valid long enough for a normal holiday, but check the expiry on the receipt.
  • Unlimited week at Adda is 900,000, which breaks even on the sixth class. If you practise daily it is the best deal in town; if you practise four times it is worse than the six-pack.
  • Unlimited month: Adda 2.0 million (12.5 drop-ins), The Path 2.2 million (13.3 drop-ins at 165,000), Samadi 3.1 million (20 drop-ins). The Path's month is the one with a twist, because the same campus sells recovery access and a 10-plus-10 yoga and plunge bundle, so a month there can replace a gym membership.
  • Ten and twenty-class cards: The Path 1.35 million for ten (135,000 a class) and 2.4 million for twenty (120,000); Pranava 1.1 million for twelve (92,000). Only worth it if you are staying a season, and only at a studio whose schedule you have already tested for a week.

The arithmetic to carry: any pack that gets the per-class price under 130,000 is a good one here, and nothing published gets a visitor under 90,000.

KITAS and local rates: bring the card

Canggu is one of the few places in Bali where the studios publish a residency discount rather than quietly applying one. Adda drops from 160,000 to 110,000 on a KITAS and 80,000 for Indonesian citizens, with the week and month passes cut the same way (700,000 and 1.6 million). Samadi publishes 135,000 and 110,000. Pranava runs the whole ladder in three columns: 110,000, 100,000, 88,000 for a single, 1.1 million, 990,000, 880,000 for twelve. Udara lists a 100,000 citizen rate. The Path and The Practice publish nothing, which usually means ask at the desk. The discount is real money over a month (Adda: 400,000 off the unlimited pass), and the studios do check the card, so bring it rather than a photo.

Not for

Three readers should look past the drop-in price. If you want a hot, fast, fitness-first class, the traditional shalas (The Practice, Samadi) will feel slow at any price; Adda, The Path and Pranava run the power and vinyasa formats. If you are on a tight budget and staying in Batu Bolong, 150,000-160,000 a day adds up to more than a gym day pass at Pucuk or RAW, and Pranava at 110,000 is a scooter ride away. And if you want aerial, sound or breathwork rather than a mat class, those are priced separately almost everywhere: Udara's aerial yoga is 170,000 but its sound workshops are 400,000-650,000, and The Practice's two-hour yin is 200,000, so a "yoga class" price is not the price of the thing you actually booked.

Booking, what is included and what to check

Adda, The Path and Udara sell through Momence, so the class price you see on the schedule is the price you pay and the slot is held when you book; walk-ins are possible but the popular morning classes fill. The Practice publishes a monthly schedule with its specials priced in brackets and asks you to arrive early for the full classes. Samadi books through its own site. Three things to check before you pay: the class length (The Path lists 60, 75 and 90-minute classes at the same 165,000, so the 90-minute vinyasa is the better buy per minute); whether the pack expires (one month at some studios, longer at others); and whether the studio applies tax on top, which none of the published prices above do, unlike the "++" you will meet at the gyms and spas.

Prices here are what the studios publish and we re-read them on 17 October 2026. If a desk quoted you something else, tell us through the Ask box below and we will check and correct.
