The Best of Lisbon: Top-5 Spas, Yoga, Surf, Cooking Classes and More (2026)

Lisbon has ten lists: spas, massage, yoga, gyms, Pilates, coworking, surf, healthy cafes, cooking classes and padel. Recovery, diving and beach clubs did not reach five places that meet our rule of a Google rating of 4.4 or higher with at least 40 reviews, so we left them out. Most places sit in central Lisbon: Baixa, Rossio and Avenida da Liberdade for massage, hotel spas near Avenida da Liberdade and in Belem, head spas in Alges and Parque das Nacoes, Principe Real, Lapa, Anjos, Saldanha and Alvalade for yoga and Pilates, and Arroios, Anjos and Santos for the vegan cafes. Surf is a different trip, as every top-rated school here teaches on the Costa da Caparica coast across the Tagus, and several padel clubs sit on the city edge. Each list is built from Google ratings and the venues' own websites, not from paid placements.

Frequently asked

Where should I stay in Lisbon for wellness and fitness?

Baixa and Rossio hold most of the massage studios, Avenida da Liberdade has The ReTREAT and Mandalay spas, Terra Heal and the Venture X coworking space, and Belem has BSpa. Yoga and Pilates studios are spread wider, across Principe Real, Lapa, Anjos, Saldanha and Alvalade. If surfing is the priority, the schools are all on the Costa da Caparica coast across the river.

How do I get from Lisbon to the surf beaches?

The surf schools here teach at Costa da Caparica and Fonte da Telha on the south bank. Gota Dagua puts the drive at about 20 minutes over the 25 de Abril bridge, or 30 to 45 minutes by public transport, and Surf PRO sells a lesson with pick-up at Marques de Pombal.

How do I get around between Lisbon neighbourhoods for these places?

Many venues give metro directions: MokoBoko to Saldanha, Prescription to Rato, Agora to Intendente and Avila Spaces to Oriente. A few places are on the city edge, such as LX Indoor Padel in Camarate, Loures, and Smash Padel across the river in Almada, where a taxi or car is simpler.

Are these Lisbon lists sponsored?

No. Every list is editorial and unpaid. Places are ranked by Google rating weighted by number of reviews, among venues rated 4.4 or higher with at least 40 reviews, one branch per brand, and we have not visited them in person.
