The 10 Best Restaurants in Seminyak: What Dinner Actually Costs (2026)

How we choose: Seminyak has more good kitchens than any district in Bali, so the useful question is not "which is nice" but "what will this table cost and what am I paying for". Every restaurant below is ranked with its published starting price for a main course in IDR, its street, its hours and the specific thing it does better than the place next door. Prices come from the venues and from named 2026 dining guides, updated for this year; where two sources disagree we say so, and anything unpublished is marked "n/a". One number to keep in your head: prices written "++" add 21 percent tax and service, so a 180,000 main lands near 218,000 on the bill. Nobody can buy a place on this list.

01

Merah Putih

Editor's pick
⭐ rating n/aJl. Petitenget No.100xMains from 180k IDR ++Daily from 12pm

The one dinner in Seminyak that is worth planning the evening around. Merah Putih cooks Indonesian food at fine-dining level in a hall of rain-catching concrete pillars that looks like a cathedral and sounds like a dining room, which is harder to pull off than it reads. Mains start at 180,000++ and the archipelago menu is the point: jackfruit bak pao, slow-cooked crispy duck, West Sumatran beef, dishes you cannot assemble from a warung crawl. If you want the same cooking philosophy for half the money, Bara Bistro at number seven starts at 90,000++, and that is the honest comparison to make before you book.

Indonesian fine dining that is not a hotel restaurant Room and food are equally strong, rare at this price Prices published openly, mains from 180,000++ With ++ and drinks, expect well over 500,000 per person Books out at peak season, walk-ins are a gamble The scale of the room is not for a quiet date
02

Mama San

⭐ rating n/aJl. Raya Kerobokan No.135Mains from 160k IDR ++12pm-10:30pm

Will Meyrick's pan-Asian brasserie has held cult status on this street through every Seminyak trend cycle, which here is the strongest recommendation there is. Street-food dishes come out with restaurant technique - sticky pork belly, soft-shell crab, spice-led curries - and the 1920s Shanghai room with the cocktail bar upstairs is built for a long evening rather than a photo. Mains from 160,000++ put it just under Merah Putih, and the kitchen runs at lunch too, which most of this list does not.

Consistent for over a decade, not a seasonal opening Open for lunch as well as dinner Upstairs cocktail bar makes it a full evening Loud when full, conversation takes effort Portions are share-sized, the bill grows fast Kerobokan end of the strip, not walkable from the beach
03

La Lucciola

⭐ rating n/aPetitenget BeachMains from 160k IDR ++Daily from 9am

Old Seminyak, still standing: a two-level timber pavilion on Petitenget Beach doing simple Italian food - seafood, pasta, sharp salads - with the sea directly in front of the upstairs tables. It is the sunset dinner that does not require a beach club minimum spend, and it deliberately has no Wi-Fi, which tells you what kind of dinner it wants to be. Mains from 160,000++, open from 9am, and the upstairs corner tables at sunset are the most requested seats in the district.

Sunset over the water without a beach club minimum Open from breakfast through dinner Straightforward Italian cooking, no gimmicks No Wi-Fi, by design Sunset tables need booking days ahead You pay a premium for the position
04

Sangsaka

⭐ rating n/aJl. Raya Pakung Sari No.100Mains from 130k IDR ++5:30pm-11pm

Fire-led Indonesian cooking in a small room, and the best value in the upper half of this list: mains from 130,000++ for food that is plated and paced like a tasting menu. Everything passes over wood or coals - slipper lobster dumplings, Balinese duck leg, beef cheek rendang - and the kitchen is led by a chef with a London fine-dining record cooking his wife's family recipes. Dinner only, from 5:30pm, so it is not an option for a late lunch.

Fine-dining execution at 130,000++ mains Wood fire on nearly every dish, a real house style Small room, personal service Dinner only, opens at 5:30pm Few tables, booking effectively required Off the main strip, you need a ride
05

Motel Mexicola

⭐ rating n/aJl. Kayu Jati No.9x, PetitengetLarge plates from 160k IDR ++Daily from 11am

Seminyak's loudest institution, and better food than its reputation suggests: hand-pressed masa tortillas, al pastor tacos, margaritas that have ended plenty of holidays early. Large plates start at 160,000++ and a full night with drinks lands near 400,000 a person. The timing rule is simple and worth following: come early and it is a colourful family-friendly cantina, come late and it is a nightclub with tacos.

Genuinely good Mexican cooking, not a theme bar Works early as a family dinner, late as a night out Open from 11am every day Deafening once the night crowd arrives Drinks push the bill toward 400,000 a head No live official website, book by phone or walk in
06

Mauri

⭐ rating n/aJl. Petitenget No.100Mains from 290k IDR ++Dinner daily from 6:30pm

The most serious Italian kitchen in Seminyak and the most expensive a-la-carte on this list: mains from 290,000++, a glass-walled kitchen, a chef's counter and a rooftop hydroponic garden that supplies the plates below. Lunch runs Friday to Sunday only, dinner every night from 6:30pm. Book the counter if you care about how the food is made, take a table if you want the room; either way this is a special-occasion bill, not a Tuesday.

Technical Italian cooking at the top of the district Chef's counter is a genuinely different experience Own rooftop garden supplying the kitchen Mains from 290,000++, the priciest in this ten Lunch only Friday to Sunday No live official website, reserve by phone
07

Bara Bistro

⭐ rating n/aJl. Kayu Aya No.6Mains from 90k IDR ++4pm-11pm

The value answer on Eat Street. A flame grill, an open kitchen, a chef with Le Cordon Bleu training, and modern Indonesian mains from 90,000++, which is roughly half of what the restaurants either side charge for a comparable plate. It is a bistro, so the room is small and the menu is short, and that is precisely why the cooking holds up. If Merah Putih is the once-a-trip dinner, this is the one you repeat.

Cheapest chef-led kitchen in this ten, mains from 90,000++ Open flame grill and open kitchen, nothing hidden Right on Kayu Aya, walkable from most of Seminyak Opens only at 4pm Small room, no walk-in guarantee at peak hours Short menu, less choice for large groups
08

Buzo

⭐ rating n/aJl. Kayu Aya No.105Mains from 150k IDR ++Daily from 12pm

Japanese-Italian izakaya, which sounds like a marketing exercise and eats like a coherent menu: robata-grilled skewers next to handmade pasta, crudo next to pizza, local produce underneath both. Mains from 150,000++, a long central bar, and a room designed for a group that cannot agree on a cuisine. It is the most useful table in Seminyak for exactly that situation.

Two cuisines done properly, not a fusion gimmick Bar seating works for solo diners Open from noon, so lunch is an option Sharing format means ordering three plates each Busy central location, parking is a problem Not the place for a quiet dinner
09

The Long Table at John Hardy

⭐ rating n/aJl. Petitenget, John Hardy gallery600k IDR ++ per person, set menu11am-9pm

One communal table under the John Hardy gallery, one set menu, one price: 600,000++ per person for family recipes served in stages and finished with a vintage ice shaver rolling out es campur. It is a fixed experience rather than a restaurant, so the honest framing is that you are booking a seat at a dinner party, not choosing dishes. For a first trip to Bali it is the most memorable Indonesian meal on this list; for a fussy eater it is the riskiest.

Set price published in advance, no bill surprises Heritage recipes you will not find on a menu elsewhere Communal format that actually works for solo travellers 600,000++ per person regardless of appetite No choice of dishes, dietary needs must be flagged early Hidden entrance, allow time to find it
10

Warung Bernadette

⭐ rating n/aJl. Kayu Aya No.17Dishes 30-80k IDRHours n/a

The corrective to everything above. A warung on the same street as the 160,000 mains, serving the beef rendang both 2026 guides name as its signature, with dishes between 30,000 and 80,000 IDR. Vintage-cluttered room, generous portions, no service charge theatre. We rank it tenth rather than higher because it is a warung and not a restaurant experience, but on value per rupiah nothing else in Seminyak is close. The brand also has an Ubud location, so check you are at the Kayu Aya address.

30,000 to 80,000 a dish on the most expensive street in the district Rendang is the signature and it deserves the reputation No booking needed, walk in Warung comfort levels, not a special-occasion room Hours not published, we mark them "n/a" Two locations exist, confirm you are at the Seminyak one

Pair it with

Dinner is the second half of a Seminyak day: start at the 10 best beach clubs in Seminyak, where we list the real entry fees and daybed minimums, and book a Seminyak spa for the morning after at the prices actually published. Eating your way around the island? Ubud's plant-based cafes and Canggu's healthy kitchens cover the daytime end, and a Balinese cooking class in Ubud is how you take the food home. Bills here carry tax and service, so how much to tip in Bali is worth two minutes before dinner.

Also worth a table, and what we left out

Other Seminyak kitchens with published prices. Estia on Jl. Kayu Cendana does Greek wood-grill plates from 70,000++. FED by Made on Jl. Kunti I is a chef-led bistro from 130,000++, Wednesday to Sunday only, 6pm to 11pm. Boy'N'Cow on Jl. Raya Kerobokan dry-ages its own beef, steaks from about 400,000. The Restaurant at The Legian is the district ceiling at 320,000++ a main. For set-menu evenings: Sa'Mesa on Jl. Petitenget runs about 700,000 a person with drinks, Bambu about 600,000, Kilo Kitchen on Jl. Drupadi about 600,000. Cheaper and reliable: Warung Nia under 100,000 a head, Corner House 50,000 to 100,000, Sisterfields for brunch at around 10 to 15 US dollars a main.

Inside the beach clubs. Two of Seminyak's best kitchens sit inside clubs, so we rank them there instead of here: Ijen at Potato Head, zero-waste seafood with mains from 85,000++, and Saltlick above Ku De Ta, dry-aged steak from 230,000++. Both are covered in the beach club ranking.

Not Seminyak. Uma Garden (mains from 110,000++) is in Umalas and Naughty Nuri's on Jl. Mertanadi (50,000 to 100,000) is Umalas-Kerobokan, so neither is in the ranking even though Seminyak lists routinely include them. Mama San, Boy'N'Cow and Bambu sit on Kerobokan-side streets that locals and guides file under Seminyak, and we keep them with the street named in the card.

Frequently asked

How much does dinner cost in Seminyak?

There are four clear tiers. A warung dish is 30,000 to 100,000 IDR (Warung Bernadette, Warung Nia). A chef-led mid-range main is 90,000 to 180,000 (Bara Bistro 90,000++, Sangsaka 130,000++, Buzo 150,000++, Mama San 160,000++, Merah Putih 180,000++). Fine dining a-la-carte runs 230,000 to 320,000 (Saltlick 230,000++, Mauri 290,000++, The Restaurant at The Legian 320,000++). Set-menu experiences are 500,000 to 700,000 a person (The Long Table 600,000++, Bambu about 600,000, Sa'Mesa about 700,000). Add 21 percent to anything marked "++".

What does "++" mean on a Bali menu?

It means tax and service are not included: government tax plus a service charge, usually 21 percent combined. A menu that reads 180,000++ arrives on the bill at roughly 218,000. Warungs and small cafes normally quote net prices with no "++", which is part of why the gap between a 50,000 warung plate and a 180,000 restaurant main is larger than it looks.

Where is the best Indonesian food in Seminyak?

Three different answers at three price points. Merah Putih for Indonesian fine dining, mains from 180,000++. Sangsaka for fire-led modern Indonesian at 130,000++. Warung Bernadette for rendang at 30,000 to 80,000 a dish. The Long Table is the fourth option if you want a set heritage menu at 600,000++ a person.

Where can I eat cheaply in Seminyak?

Warung Bernadette on Jl. Kayu Aya at 30,000 to 80,000 a dish, Warung Nia on the same street for under 100,000 a head, and Corner House at 50,000 to 100,000 for all-day cafe food. Bara Bistro at 90,000++ is the cheapest chef-led kitchen. Avoid assuming beachfront equals expensive only: La Plancha on the sand costs less than most of the restaurants inland, though its minimum spend is reported rather than published.

Do I need to book a restaurant in Seminyak?

For Merah Putih, Sangsaka, Mauri, La Lucciola sunset tables and The Long Table, yes, ideally several days ahead in July and August. Mama San, Buzo and Motel Mexicola take walk-ins but not at 8pm on a weekend. Warung Bernadette, Warung Nia and Corner House never need a reservation.

Is this Seminyak restaurant ranking sponsored?

No. No restaurant can buy a place and we take no commission. Starting prices come from the venues and from named 2026 dining guides; where sources disagree we show the range, and where a restaurant does not publish hours or prices we write "n/a" rather than guessing.
