Frequently asked

How much does a restaurant meal cost in Bali?

Among the six here that publish a menu (Nusa's is a Google Drive file linked from the group site): larger plates from 90k IDR at Ling-Ling's, bowls from 97k at This Is Bali, pizza from 120k at Nusa, mains from 135k at SkaZka, secondi from 155k at Chora and mains from 220k at Luca, where dry-aged steaks start at 720k. A price marked ++ means tax and service are added on top: 10% tax and 6% service at This Is Bali and 6% service plus 10.5% tax at SkaZka, 10% tax and 7% service at Ling-Ling's and Nusa. Luca's and Chora's menus carry no tax note.

Are there separate restaurant lists for each part of Bali?

Yes. Ubud, Canggu, Uluwatu, Seminyak and Sanur each have their own restaurant list, ranked by the same rule but inside a few kilometres of that area's centre. This island list puts the highest weighted scores from all of Bali side by side, so Kaya, This Is Bali, Chora and Nusa also appear on the Ubud list.

Why are most of these restaurants around Ubud?

The order comes only from Google rating and review count, and the Ubud area holds many high-scoring restaurants: Kaya, SkaZka, This Is Bali, Chora and Nusa are in Ubud, and Padi and Warung Umah Bali are in Kelusa, Payangan, north-west of town. For the south, Luca is in Sanur, Ling-Ling's in Kerobokan and Koffietons in South Kuta.

Which of these restaurants serve Balinese food?

Going by Google category and the venues' own sites: Warung Umah Bali is listed as a Balinese restaurant, and This Is Bali serves Balinese food and desserts with a make-your-own nasi campur. The others are a steakhouse (Luca), Mediterranean (Chora, Nusa), Asian fusion (Ling-Ling's, Padi), Russian, Ukrainian and Turkish (SkaZka), and two whose cuisine is not published (Kaya, Koffietons).

Is this list sponsored?

No. No restaurant paid to be listed or ranked; the order is a weighted score of Google rating and review count, and any partner would be labelled.
