The 10 Best Massages in Ubud (2026)

How we choose: this list is about the hands, not the flower bath - technique, published prices and long review records, cross-checked across 2026 editorial guides and the venues' own price lists. Ubud's massage market runs three floors, from 200k village rooms to designer spas, and we show all three. Nobody can buy a spot; anything unverified is marked "н/д", not guessed.

Editor's pick
⭐ rating н/д (2,615 Tripadvisor reviews)Bangkiang Sidem · past the Campuhan Ridge WalkBalinese 60 min 240k IDR +15%

Our pick, and the easiest one on any page we have written: Karsa is the only venue in our whole Ubud research that publishes a complete price menu by technique - 240k Balinese, 260k deep tissue (380k for 90 minutes), 280k shiatsu, 450k Thai yoga for 90 minutes, all plus 15 percent. Add 2,615 Tripadvisor reviews, a Certificate of Excellence run from 2016 to 2023, and a setting above the rice terraces you can reach on foot along the Campuhan Ridge Walk. On our island-wide massage list the pick went to a Seminyak specialist; in Ubud, this is the one to beat.

Full published price list across techniques - unique in our research 2,615 Tripadvisor reviews; walkable via the ridge trail (about 30 minutes) Popular - book ahead rather than walking in Closes at 7pm, earlier than the town spas

Sang Spa

⭐ rating н/д (2,124 Tripadvisor reviews)Central Ubud · Jl. Jembawan No.13B60 min from 359k IDR90 min from 689k IDR

The central-Ubud heavyweight: several branches around the center, open 9am to 10pm, and a signature sequence that opens with Tibetan singing bowls and chakra work before the massage itself. With 2,124 Tripadvisor reviews it has the second-deepest record in town after Karsa. The ritual theatre is the draw; if you want plain technique per rupiah, the floor below serves that better.

2,124 Tripadvisor reviews and branches across the center Open until 10pm - the late-evening option in central Ubud Ritual add-ons push the price above the local floor Popular branches book out - reserve in high season

Ubud Traditional Spa

⭐ rating н/дKedewatan · Jl. RSI Markandya 160 min from 260k IDR

The strongest value-for-technique play in our research: a 260k hour, named local styles you will not see on hotel menus (Ubud Royal Massage, Rice Farmer Massage, Balinese reflexology) and complimentary transport - which matters, because Kedewatan is out of walking range for most stays. Open 11am to 8pm.

260k hour with distinctive local techniques on the menu Free pick-up solves the out-of-center location Kedewatan location - without the transfer it is a ride away Rating and review count not confirmed at time of writing

Cantika Zest

⭐ rating н/дPenestanan60 min 200k IDR +10%

The honest bottom of the market, and we mean that as praise: a 200k full-body hour in Penestanan from a house built on natural Balinese medicine - they also run workshops on traditional herbal remedies. The rooms are simple and the design is dated; nobody comes here for the interior. Come for hands that learned on family recipes, at the best verified price in town.

Cheapest verified hour on this list at 200k plus 10 percent Rooted in Balinese herbal medicine - workshops on site Dated interiors - the opposite of a designer spa No published website in our research; book via Maps contacts

Ubud Bodyworks Centre

⭐ rating н/дCentral Ubud · Jl. Hanoman No.2560 min from 265,500 IDR

A healing centre on Jl. Hanoman rather than a pamper room: the menu runs from its Bodyworks Relaxing Therapy to an Ultimate Lymphatic Reset and a cocoa bath. At 265,500 for the hour it sits on the local floor price-wise while feeling closer to treatment than treat. Open 10am to 8pm, in easy walking range of most central stays.

Treatment-minded menu (lymphatic work) at a local-floor price Central Jl. Hanoman address - walkable from most stays Simple rooms - this is a healing house, not a spa set Rating and review count not confirmed at time of writing

Bali Botanica (by Oneworld Ayurveda)

⭐ rating н/дSanggingan60 min from 325k IDR

Ubud's Ayurvedic specialist: Chakra Dhara oil-stream work, Avagaham and Kati Vasti on a menu curated by Oneworld Ayurveda, with herbal facials and natural-ingredient scrubs alongside. If you want a tradition with a different logic from Balinese massage - dosha-led rather than pressure-led - this is the only dedicated address on this list, from 325k. Open 9am to 9pm.

Genuine Ayurvedic treatments, not a menu garnish 325k entry for a specialist house Sanggingan is a short ride from the center Booking runs through WhatsApp rather than a booking site

Hesa Wellness Spa

⭐ rating н/дCentral Ubud · Jl. Sandat + Monkey Forest RdFrom 300k IDR +10% (site) · 60 min from 600k IDR (2026 guide)

The contrast-therapy house: steam and hot-and-cold pools before your treatment, Korean scrubs and a hammam - a physiological warm-up no other massage venue in central Ubud offers. Two honest flags. First, the spa's claim of "5,000+ five-star Google reviews" is its own marketing - treat it as that, we could not verify it. Second, its site says treatments from 300k plus 10 percent VAT while a 2026 guide lists the massage hour from 600k; confirm the price when booking.

Contrast therapy (steam, hot and cold pools) included before treatment Two central locations, open 9am to 9pm Sources disagree on price (300k site vs 600k guide) - confirm when booking Review numbers are the spa's own claim, not independently verified

Taksu Spa

⭐ rating н/дCentral Ubud · Jl. Goutama Selatan60 min from 500k IDR

The therapeutic entry on the designer floor: myofascial release, Ayurvedic massage and pulse-point balancing in a garden compound above a stream, minutes from the main street but out of its noise. If your back needs an actual intervention rather than an hour of pleasant strokes, this is where the town's bodywork depth lives. Open 11am to 9pm; there is a small yoga studio in the same garden.

INKA Spa

⭐ rating н/дCentral Ubud · Jl. Monkey Forest60 min from 500k IDR

A polished mid-luxury room on Monkey Forest Road with a signature Inka Flow massage and a flower bath for the occasion crowd - and a practical superpower: open until 10pm, the latest verified closing on this list alongside Sang. When the day ran long and everything local-floor is shutting, INKA is the quality option still taking bookings.

Jaens Spa

⭐ rating н/дPengosekan · Jl. Raya Pengosekan90 min from 635k IDR

The family-run "affordable luxury" house of Pengosekan, with several locations around Ubud: aromatherapy massage and singing-bowl touches across several locations. Its published entry is a 90-minute session from 635k - long-format value on the designer floor, where most competitors price the same money for an hour.

90-minute entry format - more table time per rupiah on this floor Several Ubud locations; open 9am to 9pm No verified 60-minute price in our research Rating and review count not confirmed at time of writing

💆 Comparing Ubud with the rest of the island?

Ubud's massage floor starts lower than the beach towns', but the island has its own specialists - a Seminyak house that has done nothing but massage since 2001, science-driven sport rooms, budget gems on the Bukit. The full picture, both price tiers, is in the 10 best massages in Bali.

Frequently asked

How much does a massage cost in Ubud?

Three floors. The local floor runs 200k-325k IDR for an hour (Cantika Zest 200k, Karsa 240k, Ubud Traditional 260k, Ubud Bodyworks 265,500, Bali Botanica 325k). The middle floor is roughly 350-500k (Sang from 359k, Taksu and INKA from 500k). The designer floor starts around 600k (Hesa per one 2026 guide, Jaens from 635k for 90 minutes). Most add 10-15 percent tax and service - Karsa states +15%, Hesa and Cantika +10%.

Where is the best cheap massage in Ubud?

Verified cheapest on this list is Cantika Zest in Penestanan at 200k plus 10 percent for a full-body hour. Karsa at 240k is the strongest all-around value: published prices, 2,615 Tripadvisor reviews and a rice-terrace setting. Ubud Traditional Spa at 260k adds free transport, which effectively discounts it further.

Balinese massage or deep tissue - what is the difference in Ubud?

Balinese is a full-body oil massage with long strokes and medium pressure; deep tissue works slower and harder into specific knots. Karsa's published menu prices the difference honestly: 240k for Balinese versus 260k for deep tissue for 60 minutes, or 380k for a 90-minute deep tissue. For structural problems rather than tension, Taksu's myofascial release is the specialist option.

What about couples massage in Ubud?

Couple treatments in Ubud are mostly sold as spa rituals - flower baths and packages rather than plain massage hours. That market is covered in our separate guide to the best spas in Ubud, where venues like Hotel Tjampuhan (Relaxing Romance package) and Maya Ubud (packages priced for two) specialise in exactly this.

Is this list sponsored?

No. Placement is never paid and no venue on this page has any commercial relationship with The Ten List. Where sources disagree on a price (Hesa) we show both numbers, self-claimed review counts are labeled as claims, and anything unverified is marked "н/д" rather than invented.
