The 10 Best Recovery Spots in Bali: Ice Bath, Sauna & Cold Plunge (2026)

How we choose: recovery is one of Bali's fastest-growing scenes and its most opaque on price, so we ranked the whole island - Uluwatu, Canggu, Ubud and Seminyak - on facts we could stand behind: what temperatures the tubs actually run, what a session includes, and what it costs. We have plunged at several of these ourselves; where we could not revisit this season we used published rates and long review records instead of pretending. Prices marked "n/a" are simply not published - we do not guess them. Studios cannot buy a spot, and the one venue we own is labeled and kept out of the ranking on purpose.

01

Santai Recovery Spa

Editor's pick
⭐ rating n/aUluwatu · Bingin60-min contrast session from 200k IDR

A short walk from the best waves on the Bukit, this is the most honest value in serious recovery on the island: a stadium-style sauna with two big rock heaters and a glass wall over the pool, and a round ice bath big enough for eight to ten people to share. You get a proper hot-to-cold contrast loop for roughly the price of a taxi from Canggu, which is exactly why it earns the pick over the flashier bathhouses.

Best value contrast session we found in Bali Big communal ice bath and a real, hot sauna Off the tourist strip - you need a scooter Communal by design, not a private room
02

AMO Bathhouse

⭐ rating n/aCanggu · Batu BolongSince 2017Bath package price n/a

The most complete contrast circuit on the island, and it has had years to perfect it. One loop runs from a 100°C Finnish rock sauna through a Turkish hammam and steam room to 4°C ice barrels and cooler 12-15°C plunge pools, then out to a saltwater deck. If you want the full ritual under one roof rather than a single tub, this is the Canggu benchmark.

Widest range of temperatures and rituals in one place Beautifully built, calm and genuinely clean Bath-only pricing not published online - ask on arrival Busy Batu Bolong location fills in peak hours
03

The Istana

⭐ rating n/aUluwatu · clifftopMembership · price n/a

The luxury end of Bukit recovery: a clifftop wellness centre with a large steam room, dry sauna and several cold plunge pools looking straight out over the ocean, plus an IV lounge and a Watsu pool. Access runs on morning, all-day or midnight memberships, so it suits a longer Uluwatu stay more than a one-off plunge.

Cold plunges with an open-ocean clifftop view Deep facilities: IV lounge, Watsu, meditation Membership model, not a casual walk-in Remote southern tip - plan the drive
04

Body Factory Bali

⭐ rating n/aCanggu · BerawaRecovery day pass from 350k IDRSunday -50%

The recovery half of Canggu's most serious gym. The ice bath runs a genuine 4-5°C with a strong flow that keeps it cold, and the sauna is large enough to actually sit and sweat over a view of the plunge pools. Train, plunge and eat at the cafe without leaving, and come Sunday when the recovery area is half price.

One of the coldest, best-flowing ice baths in Bali Gym plus recovery plus cafe in one; Sunday -50% Gets crowded at peak gym hours Full VIP access costs more than a single plunge
05

Nirvana Life Bali

⭐ rating n/aCanggu · BerawaDay pass from ~592k IDR++

The most equipment for one ticket anywhere on this list: a 4°C ice bath, a milder 10°C cold bath, dry and infrared saunas, a steam room, a 40°C jacuzzi and even a hyperbaric chamber, all in one suite. If you want to work methodically through six recovery modalities in a single visit, nowhere in Bali packs this many in.

Six modalities including a hyperbaric chamber Two cold options, so beginners can ease in at 10°C Highest day-pass price on this list Feels clinical rather than atmospheric
06

Parq Ubud (Hothaus)

⭐ rating n/aUbudDay pass 150k IDR (200k after 5pm)

Ubud's answer to the coast bathhouses, and one of the biggest sauna facilities in Bali: a Finnish sauna, a Turkish hammam, an aromatherapy bio sauna and a proper 100-120°C Russian bathhouse for the heat purists, plus a pool and cold plunge. All of it for a day-pass price the Canggu studios cannot touch, with half off your first visit.

Several sauna styles including a 120°C Russian room Lowest full-facility day pass on this list Cold side is a plunge, not a hardcore 4°C ice bath Ubud location, a drive from the beach towns
07

sundaymood Bali

⭐ rating n/aCanggu · Batu Bolong499k IDR / 75-min session+100k per extra guest

Bali's first fully private infrared-sauna-and-ice-bath studio. You get your own room with an infrared pod and a chemical-free saltwater ice bath at 8°C, and 75 minutes to run your own contrast cycle with nobody else around. This is the one to book when the point is to switch off, not to socialise.

Completely private room - no crowd, no waiting Chemical-free saltwater ice bath; bring up to two friends One session at a time - book ahead, slots go fast Infrared heat is gentler than a hot Finnish sauna
08

Terapung Float Club

⭐ rating n/aSeminyakSauna & ice bath pack (130 min) 450k IDR

Seminyak's recovery all-rounder, and the one place here built around floatation: sensory-deprivation float tanks alongside a private infrared sauna and ice bath suite, red light therapy and IV drips. The 130-minute sauna-and-ice-bath pack adds red light and compression, which makes it a good full reset day rather than a quick plunge.

Only float tanks on this list - a different kind of reset Private suite, published package prices Sits in busy Seminyak, not a serene retreat Best value comes from packages, not single entries
09

Bam Bam Padel Recovery Spa

⭐ rating n/aUbudRecovery entry from 100k IDR

The best cheap plunge in Ubud, hidden inside a padel club: a Finnish sauna, a 45°C steam room, an 8°C cold plunge, a 4°C ice bath and a warm 39°C saltwater jacuzzi, open until half nine. Non-players pay a small entry for the full recovery circuit, which is remarkable value for this many temperatures in one visit.

Full hot-and-cold circuit from about 100k IDR Both an 8°C plunge and a colder 4°C ice bath Shares a busy padel venue, not a quiet spa Ubud location, away from the surf towns
10

Power + Revive

⭐ rating n/aCanggu · Jl. Subak3-day unlimited intro 550k IDR++

A group-training gym with a proper recovery corner: a beginner-friendly 10-12°C cold plunge, a colder 4-6°C ice bath for the experienced, a bubbly jacuzzi and an 80°C dry sauna. The two-tier cold setup makes it a good place to build a cold tolerance rather than shock yourself once and quit.

Two cold temperatures - a real progression path Intro deal covers workouts and recovery together No single-plunge drop-in price published Shared space, quieter outside class times

🧘 Pair recovery with a proper stretch

Gravity Stretching our studio - therapeutic spinal decompression in hanging straps, in Padonan near Canggu's Batu Bolong. After an ice bath the nervous system is calm and the back muscles let go, which is exactly when assisted stretching does the most. We put it here, in a labeled block, and deliberately kept it out of the ranking above - because it is ours, and the ranking is the one thing we will not put our own thumb on.

Our partner perk network is launching soon. See Gravity Stretching

Recover after, or make a full day of it

Contrast therapy works best after load. Surf the Bukit first with a clifftop yoga class in Uluwatu, or book a session at one of the 10 best surf camps in Bali, then plunge. Frequently asked

How much does an ice bath or recovery session cost in Bali?

It ranges widely by format and area. The cheapest full circuits are in Ubud - about 100k IDR at Bam Bam and a 150k day pass at Parq Ubud. A communal contrast session at Santai in Uluwatu starts around 200k IDR. On the Canggu coast expect more: a gym recovery day pass from 350k at Body Factory, a private 75-minute session at sundaymood for 499k, and a multi-modality suite day pass near 592k++ at Nirvana Life. Single walk-in plunge prices at the big bathhouses are often quoted only on arrival.

Where is the best ice bath and sauna in Bali by area?

Canggu has the deepest scene: AMO Bathhouse for the widest circuit, Body Factory for the coldest ice bath, sundaymood for a private room. Uluwatu leads for setting and value, with Santai's communal sauna and The Istana's clifftop plunges. Ubud is the value play, with Parq's huge sauna house and Bam Bam's cheap full circuit. Seminyak adds float tanks at Terapung.

Where is the coldest ice bath in Bali?

Body Factory and Nirvana Life in Canggu both run ice baths at about 4°C, and Body Factory's has a strong flow that holds that temperature. Power + Revive offers a 4-6°C ice bath alongside a gentler 10-12°C plunge, and Bam Bam in Ubud runs a 4°C ice bath next to an 8°C cold plunge.

Where can I do sauna and ice bath together (contrast therapy)?

AMO Bathhouse in Canggu has the widest hot-to-cold circuit. Santai in Uluwatu pairs a big sauna with a communal ice bath for the best value, sundaymood offers a private infrared-and-ice room, and Parq Ubud runs several sauna styles beside a cold plunge. Nirvana Life and Power + Revive combine both in one visit too.

Do I need to book a recovery session ahead in Bali?

For private studios such as sundaymood and Terapung's suites, yes - they run one session at a time and fill up from July to September. Communal bathhouses and gym recovery areas (AMO, Body Factory, Santai, Parq) usually accept same-day walk-ins, and The Istana runs on memberships rather than drop-ins.

Is this recovery list sponsored?

No. The ranking is editorial and unpaid, and no studio can buy a spot. The one venue we own, Gravity Stretching, is labeled and kept out of the ranking on purpose, and any network partner is labeled too. Prices we could not verify are marked "n/a" rather than invented.
